This Research Project is an assignment to look into what happiness is and just how one single emotion can give a positive effect on your person and state of well being. In order to understand just what happiness is and attempt to begin to define it, I read up on Martin Seligman and his studies into what positive psychology is and just how it works. I even looked into how Dr. Seligman breaks down happiness into specifics or at least a way to look at the emotion in aspects that we can work towards, and use that in my research project as both a source of knowledge and a tool. To start my research I decided to take part of a hands on approach and make an honest attempt at making positive psychology part of my life for a week.
The following days include blog posts number, #11, #12, #13, #14, #15 . One thing is certain that day seven of the week of, Three Good Things, told me a different story than what I was expecting. Dr Seligman is onto something and may have indeed given us insight into one of the things that makes happiness worth while and really given in it a name. I discuss this in detail inside of my second research paper in the link down below. But what I'm referring to is what he calls, P.E.R.M.A. When evaluating your routines that bring happiness to you, you can really start to understand what the feeling you experience is and even give it a name through the use of P.E.R.M.A.
Though I would take the time to go more into detail about what exactly the process I took was and what exactly P.E.R.M.A is, you can find out more by reading the blog posts concerning it. You will also be able to read about it in even more depth by reading my research drafts down below. Hopefully through my blog posts and my research, I can help add my voice into discovering what happiness may be.
